We’re having this new episode again today where I will give you tips on picking a topic to write about.
Key points discussed in this episode:
Your heart desire and niching it way, way down, doing research on your client. Picking a topic to write about can vary on the type of writing you’re doing. I always say, if you’re writing for a client, you’ll want to know the content strategy the client has in mind and work with that.
Remember, our goal with content is to gain traffic, so you have to know a little bit about what’s going on in the industry. Hopefully, your client has a strategy that focuses on keyword analysis and search engine optimization that can help guide you on topic generation.
You’ll want to pitch clients ideas that are trending in the industry based on what the client’s audience might be searching for. Again, if they have a great SEO person, they already know what that is. Now it’s up to you to write it.
Another way is to look at what the client has already posted and what’s working on their current blog. If they have “5 tips for something,” dive deep into one tip and create a blog post around it.
I hope this helps!
