About the Guest

Emily Thompson is a creative copywriter, digital content strategist, and brand-voice whisperer with a serious soft spot for healthcare storytelling.

Emily earned her B.A. in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin Madison (go Bucky!). But after learning she’d be on the “late night crime beat” upon graduation, she realized journalism wasn’t her dream. She pivoted into marketing and landed right in the middle of the digital content boom – starting at UW Health, where she learned to transform complex clinical information into clear, human-centered content people actually want to read.

Since then, she’s spent nearly two decades writing for major healthcare organizations and category-defining brands, including Massachusetts General Hospital, Beth Israel Lahey Health, Joslin Diabetes Center, Virgin Pulse, athenahealth, and more. From patient engagement campaigns to digital experience overhauls to websites that convert, Emily brings a rare blend of creativity, clarity, and strategy that helps healthcare brands sound more like people and less like paperwork.

When she’s not deep in client strategy or rewriting the same headline twelve times (for the greater good), you’ll find her hiking with her husband, three spirited kiddos, and two mischievous mutts.
