Episode 4: Getting Paid as a Freelancer

Everyone does a job to get paid, so you would think it wouldn’t be tough for a freelancer to do the same, but it is. In this episode, we will discuss some tips on getting paid as a freelancer for your own writing services. Your business will run smoothly only when you are getting paid for your business or cash is flowing in and out.

3 WAYS TO GETTING PAID AS A FREELANCER

Contracts are vital.

Let’s face it, if you don’t have a contract, you really don’t have a leg to stand on. When a client finds you, you can talk to them until you are blue in the face, but if there is no legal bind, you may see the pay when it’s late, or worse the client disappears. A contract is for both parties. It includes everything for which you are working with that person like, payment amount, task details and time duration, etc. So to avoid any mishap, contracts should be done.

Accept multiple payment methods.

Suppose, a client is demanding PayPal for payment so you must accept that because it will allow other PayPal demanding clients too to work with you. So, getting paid as a freelancer faster you must have multiple payment methods through which clients can pay for your work.

Require a deposit before contract signing.

Clients only pay when you complete their work. So, there should be a signed contract from both parties related to payment deposit, how much, and when payment will be made.
