About Maria Jasanya
Maria Jasanya, MSN, RNC, CNM, CLC, CNE, is a Nurse Educator, Adjunct Nursing Faculty, Certified Nurse Midwife and Nurse Freelance Medical Writer with extensive experience in nursing education, maternal–child health, and professional development. She obtained her BSN from CUNY Hunter College in 2007, MSN from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in 2012 and a post-MSN certificate from SUNY Stony Brook in 2019.
Maria currently serves as the Nurse Residency Coordinator (NRP) and Registered Nurse Instructor at a multi-site academic teaching hospital in Brooklyn, New York, where she leads and coordinates the implementation of the Vizient NRP curriculum. In this role, Maria supports new graduate nurses as they transition to practice, mentors them through evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives and collaborates with nursing leadership across to advance best practices and improve patient care outcomes.
In addition to her clinical and educational roles, Maria contributes to the advancement of nursing knowledge as a Medical Writer for EBSCO Information Services writing continuing education material and with Write RN factchecking health information and writing blogs. She has worked with several companies including Relias, HealthStream and Health eCareers as a Subject Matter Expert and Medical Writer to review and develop nursing curriculum, and job aides, formulate NCLEX-style questions, create learning modules and publish articles on nursing practice, professional development, and healthcare trends.
